The role of Internet technologies in the organization of independent work of students of non-linguistic universities in the study of French (foreign) language (s)

Abstract:
The article describes the advantages of using multimedia and Internet technologies in the educational process – in teaching a foreign (French) language in a non-linguistic university, particular, in organizing students´ independent work. Considered the main types of students’ independent work (classroom and extracurricular), their interaction with the teacher and the global Network (work with electronic resources and Internet communication – synchronous and asynchronous), presented types of interesting and productive training sessions organized using the Internet. Identified the risks of using these innovative teaching. It is concluded that the safe, but at the same time effective, is a combined training format, combining independence and initiative of students and the coordinating, controlling, mediating role of the lecturer.
