Abstract:
We investigated the differences between left-handers and right-handers using the results of neuropsychological assessment. The sample included 570 healthy children aged 4-17 years (52 left-handed, 518 right-handed persons). For the majority of mental functions and academic performance in school, no differences were found. Left-handers have an advantage only in acoustic gnosis and praxis of the non-leading hand.
Keywords: school performance, Taylor Complex Figure, graphomotor technique, higher mental functions, functional manual asymmetry
