Social willingness of pregnant women to participate in pregroove diagnostic process

Abstract:
Problem: Modern development of medicine allows early prenatal screening and diagnosis of a number of structural and genetic abnormalities of the fetus that allows prospective parents to make important decisions regarding the continuation, surveillance and outcome of pregnancy. The introduction and implementation of any program of prenatal screening raises a number of social and ethical nature. The aim of this work is the study of the social willingness of pregnant women to participate in the process of prenatal diagnosis. Used sociological and statistical methods. The results show that 97.2% of pregnant women surveyed were willing to participate in the program of prenatal screening and diagnosis of structural and chromosomal anomalies (HA) of the fetus between 11 to 14 g. s.; 2.8 per cent were undecided. 99,1% of the respondents prefer the first ultrasound with the aim of prenatal screening and diagnosis to produce between 11 to 14 gestational weeks. It is concluded that the possibility of obtaining clarity regarding the condition of the fetus before birth creates a positive social attitude to the process of early prenatal diagnosis.
